Jim Jeffers is an intermedia and performance artist currently living and working in Port Saint Lucie, FL. This is a collection of roughly five-minute edits of his performance pieces.
In his performances Jim takes on an alter ego, transforming into a superhero and creating something simple on a mythic scale. His performances are commentary on or are allegoric to current events as they relate to his own lived experience. The audience is invited on a journey as they follow him around the gallery space and beyond to witness the creation of a giant chalk line or circle on the ground. He has asked the audience to join him in the ritual consumption of food, has filled the room with balloons and has entangled the audience in 300 feet of string before cutting them free in the same way that we are entangled and set loose by relationships and cultural occurrences.
All of the documentation here was edited, compiled by Kristen Zephyrus (Spillane)-check her out at cognitive-surplus.com. Full credits are available at the end of each piece.
